Wolf Park!
Watermelon Party
Location: All the animal enclosures
Date: Around the Fourth of July
Time: 1:30 pm
Duration: Approx 1 hour
As part of our ongoing environmental enrichment program, we help our animals beat the summer heat with nice, cool watermelons! The melons are cleaned out and filled with wonderful wolf, coyote and fox treats. Each animal gets his or her own but sometimes they are sure that another one is better than the one given to them, and "trade" melons with each other. Guests will have the chance to watch the wolves figure out how to get the snacks inside, or to try to figure out how to move a very large and inconveniently shaped watermelon. Each wolf approaches this environmentally enriched activity with his or her own special flair.
(Please note that, like watermelons, buying a wolf a watermelon is only available in season.)
