FRIDAY
  • 12 noon Welcome to Wolf Park: Introduction of everyone, staff and participants
  • 1 pm Basic Wolf Ecology and Physiology
  • 2 pm Walking Tour of Wolf Park, with History of WP
  • 3 pm Taxonomy and Evolution of Canids, esp. wolves
  • 4 pm Meet Foxes and East Lake animal
  • 5 pm Dinner with the group
  • 7:30 pm Howl Night
SATURDAY
  • 7 am Wolf Observations
  • 8 am Continental Breakfast
  • 9 am Wolf Ethogram
  • 10 am Wolf's First Year-- Wolf Park Socialization
  • 11 am A Year in the Life of a Wolf Pack
  • 12 noon Lunch
  • 1 pm Social Behavior: Wolf to Wolf and Wolf to Human
  • 2 pm Meet wolves of main pack
  • 4 pm Hunting/ predatory behavior
  • 5 pm Dinner
  • 7:30 Howl Night (or optional video if people don't want to see another Howl program)
SUNDAY
  • 7 am Wolf Observations
  • 8 am Continental Breakfast
  • 9 am Myth and Folklore
  • 10 am History and Recovery of Wolves, especially North America
  • 11 am Current Events in the wolf world
  • 12 noon Lunch
  • 1 pm Join public at bleachers for lecture
  • 1:45 Board truck to watch Wolf and Bison demonstration in the pasture
  • 3 pm Feeding demo at bleachers (wolves get road kill deer)
  • 3:30 Panel Discussion with Q & A (all seminar staff on hand)
  • 4:30 Finish up — fill out evaluations
  • 5 pm END — optional dinner together (if participants are interested, and not all gone)

Price: $295.00

Includes: 2 breakfasts, 2 lunches, one dinner. Food will be informal. We cannot cater to all special diets.

Materials provided: Wolf Park ‘Ethogram', ‘Management and Socialization of Captive Wolves', adult version of ‘All About Wolves', some journal articles. One year membership to Wolf Park.

Not included: lodging, some dinners, transportation to the Park

Due to the safety factors involved with interacting with wolves, participants can only enter the wolf enclosure if they are 18 and up, and in good health. We reserve the right to make a decision about who may enter the wolf enclosures.

If you are interested in taking the course and are 16-17, contact the park about special permissions. You would not be able to meet wolves, but you might be able to do the rest of the seminar.
