PUMPKIN DAY 2009 at Wolf Park ![]()
Come out to Wolf Park on Saturday October 30 to see the wolves, coyotes and foxes all receive their own personal pumpkin stuffed with treats! The fun will begin with the main pack at about 2:30, and then move to the East Lake residents. We are open all afternoon, 1-5 pm as usual, and but instead of some of the walking tours, we will be taking visitors along as we distribute pumpkins to every canid on the property. Wolf Park is committed to having happy and healthy wolves, and part of keeping wolves happy is something we call Environmental Enrichment. This includes any kind of activity that keeps the wolves busy, active, thinking, experiencing new things. Simple things like the fact that we feed the wolves deer carcasses instead of dry kibble are included under the umbrella of Environmental Enrichment. Holidays give us the perfect opportunity to give the wolves some enrichment in ways that are also enriching to their human friends! We always want to share our holiday celebrations with the wolves, and invite our members and other guests to enjoy this as well. The pumpkins are filled with goodies the wolves, coyotes and foxes love, from doggie treats, to cheese, and whatever else we have on hand that would be special and yummy. SUPPORT WOLF PARK BY “BUYING” A PUMPKIN Pumpkin day is not only a lot of fun, it is also a fund raising opportunity for Wolf Park. As a non-profit, 501 ( c ) 3 organization, we stay alive only thanks to donations, admissions and donations. If you would like to support Wolf Park’s work keeping its wolves healthy so that they can continue to serve as ambassadors for their species, please donate to the pumpkin fund. Donations of $25 or more will get you a photo of your favorite canid with their pumpkin! Contact us directly to make your donation, or go to our web store, www.wolfparkstore.com.
