Wolf Christmas Party 2007

SANTA VISITS WOLF PARK

Join us for some holiday festivities! On Saturday December 15 Wolf Park will host a Christmas party for the wolves, and for all interested children and their families. The Park will open at 1pm. The public is invited to watch as the wolves receive their edible tree from the staff and the Junior Volunteers. The evergreen tree will be decorated with edible treats the wolves enjoy such as hotdogs, spam, and spaghetti.

Young folks who arrive early get to help decorate the wolves’ Christmas tree!

Santa will arrive around 1:30 pm, and will help place the decorated tree in the wolf enclosure. Then we can enjoy watching the wolves dismantle it! Following the presentation of the tree to the wolves, Santa will head indoors, and sit down with the children to chat and give them a small gift. There will be some hot chocolate on hand, and the Gift Shop, Education Building, and Observation Building will all be open for you to go into to warm up.

Walking tours will also go out at 2, 2:30 and 3 pm. We will close at 4 pm.

Do all of your holiday shopping for the animal lovers on your list while you are here! A membership to Wolf Park makes a wonderful gift that pays back for a full year.

Donate Toys for Kids in Need

Wolf Park is teaming with the Lafayette Indiana YWCA Domestic Violence Intervention and Prevention Program this year. Anyone wishing to donate toys or funds to this program serving our county, plus five surrounding counties, can do so in person at our Visitors Center, or through our online Gift Shop.

The YWCA has a shelter for the spouses and children in families experiencing domestic violence. The YWCA assists these families in need by giving them an alternative place to live, and then helping them get on their feet on their own. In 2006 the shelter hosted almost 200 women, and 180 children. Your donations will help them have a nicer holiday, and let them know that people care about them.

To participate you can bring a toy to Wolf Park and place it in our drop box. You can also buy a toy at Wolf Park and place it in the box. We will also accept funds that will go directly to purchasing gifts for these families. Or you can go to our online store and make a donation that specifies it is for the YWCA fund raiser. We will use 100% of this money to purchase toys for the kids.

Thank you for helping Wolf Park help others in need.
