FlyingWe recommend that visitors traveling by air, try to fly into the Indianapolis Airport. There is a shuttle van Lafayette Limo between the airport and Lafayette that runs every two hours from early in the morning till late evening. Rental cars are also available at the Indianapolis airport, and it is just over one hour's drive to Wolf Park.TrainsLafayette has limited service by Amtrak. Times and days vary so check with Amtrak for details. (800/872-7245) The train station is in downtown Lafayette.BusGreyhound serves Lafayette daily from many directions. It is not as easy to get here from Chicago as it is from Indianapolis, unless you fly into Purdue’s airport in West Lafayette. We encourage you to fly through Indianapolis if you cannot fly into Lafayette because it is much easier than travelling from Chicago.
FlyingCar RentalIt is about two and a half hours to drive from Chicago O’Hare to Wolf Park. It is not too difficult, and most of the trip is on interstate highways. Just take interstates south following signs for Indiana until you get to Interstate 80 east. Take this to Interstate 65 south, then follow directions.Ace Rent-a-Car 1-800-323-3221, will rent you a car one-way between Chicago and Lafayette if you drop the car off within 24 hours.
Getting Downtown From O'HareTo get to either the train or bus station you can take the Chicago Rapid Transit train. The train station is two blocks north, at Jackson Street. The bus station is one block south, to Harrison, and one block west. I have not done this, so feel free to ask people for directions at this point. You could probably get a taxi from the airport but it would be quite expensive.
