Domestic Dogs

The domestic dog is perhaps one of the most variable species in the animal kingdom — its ranks include such dissimilar animals as Chihuahuas, Bulldogs, Cocker Spaniels, Greyhounds, and Great Danes.

All these different and wonderful dogs are descended from wolves. Therefore, the experience handlers have with the management and socialization of wolves at Wolf Park is relevant to your experience, at home, with your faithful pet. What we are learning about how wolves communicate with and relate to one another can help us learn to communicate with and relate to man's best friend.

Dogs are amazing and fascinating animals who have expanded upon the "original template" of the wolf in a thousand — a hundred thousand! — unique and creative ways.
