Wolf Awareness Week

Wolf Park celebrates Wolf Awareness Week
October 12-18, 2008

Every day is wolf awareness day at Wolf Park!! But we will also have a few special activities to acknowledge this national week long celebration of wolves!

Wolf Park will distribute official Wolf Awareness posters and the annual Kid Wolf Awareness Booklets all week long, as supplies last.

On Saturday October 20, along with our usual assortment of tours and talks, and the chance to see our wolves up close, we will have a special presentation at 3pm:

"The Future of Wolves in the Midwest"

Wolves have been recovering in Minnesota, Wisconsin and Michigan for the past 20 years, and were just removed from the Endangered Species List in March of 2007. What does all this mean for the future of wolves? Will they be moving into Indiana soon? Will the states with wolves start a hunting season soon? How do we help shape the future of wolves in the Midwest?

Also on that Saturday we have our Wolf Park After Hours. Come for our Howl Night program at 7:30, and stay after hours to take a walk around the Park in the dark, and hear the sounds of the night, as well as the howls of the wolves, and do some star gazing. We have a campfire to sit by and enjoy the evening, including marshmallows for roasting!
