Wolf Park for Kids

Junior Volunteer Program

The Junior Volunteer Program at Wolf Park is open to all children from the age of 7 through 17 years.

The goal of the program is to teach and nurture children who wish to learn about animal care and animal behavior. Junior Volunteers will learn what it takes to keep a real wildlife park running and will help with all the day-to-day operations of the Park, including maintenance, office work, and (if desired) working with the public. Volunteers will learn proper techniques for the care and handling of animals, and as the programs and program area grow there will be opportunities to assist the staff in the educational building, putting on programs and working with visiting children. We have lots of stuff to do!

Meetings are monthly, generally the first Saturday of each month, all year round. Meetings run 12:00 noon to 3:00 pm. Everyone is invited to attend. Junior Volunteers also help with Wolf Park special events, go to parties and off-site events, and have other special activities. Contact the program coordinator to find out when the next meeting is, and start volunteering today!

Wolf Park is not a babysitting service or a day care. Younger children must have a parent or guardian with them at all times.

Wolf Park also hosts day camps and overnight camps for kids of all ages!

Don't forget to check out our kids' newsletter, Howls and Growls!
